  • Online trophies: None
  • Minimum number of playthroughs required: 4+
  • Number of missable trophies: None
  • Glitched trophies: None
  • Does difficulty affect trophies: Yes, you need to finish every level on Hardcore where checkpoints are disabled.

Step 1: Complete the game on Adventure Mode

First of all if you think the controls seem as confusing as I did, I highly recommend going to "options -> controls -> controller mapping" and change from "automatic world switch" to "manual world switch". By doing this, you can only shift the world by pressing or and not automatically by twirling or dashing.

In this step you should also try to get 5 stars in as many levels as possible by collecting as many gems as you can and avoid dying. It's not easy to get 5 stars on the first try but it would save you some time not having to replay every level later for the "Brilliant!" trophy.

After this step you will have unlocked:

Dream Twist
Ruby-Red Pirouette
Flurry of Feathers
Topsy-Turvy Trampoline
Beattime Story
Unconscious Subconscious
Fiery Awakening

Step 2: Unlock and complete every level on Hardcore Mode to unlock Über Hardcore Mode

To unlock Hardcore Mode you need to get at least 4 stars on that world's boss level e.g. getting 4 stars on Hansel and Gretel will unlock Hardcore for world 1 and so on. The only difference in Hardcore mode is that there are no checkpoints so if you die, you restart at the beginning of the level. Don't worry if you die on a boss though, they count as checkpoints so you can retry without going through the whole level again. On levels where you need to collect keys to open locks, the locks will stay open if you die so you don't need to get the keys a second time. When you complete every level on Hardcore, you will unlock Über Hardcore (where your goal is to complete the entire game without dying) but thankfully you don't actually need to complete that mode for any trophy.

After this step you will have unlocked:

Hardcore
Hardercore

Step 3: Earn the Score Attack trophy on every level

You need to collect gems and kill enemies to beat the score in Score Attack and doing it quickly is key since you will then raise your multiplier up to x10. The multiplier will drop quite fast if you don't collect any gems and if you can't keep it high enough throughout each level, you won't beat the score and get the trophy even if you find every gem and kill every enemy. There is a much easier way to do this though since almost every level has enemies that keep respawning, you can raise your score simply by killing them over and over. Not every enemy will respawn though and the ones that do are usually the ones that are needed for you to finish the level, meaning the ones you need to jump on to reach an otherwise unreachable platform for instance. Sometimes it's even possible to simply backtrack and kill some of these enemies if your score is too low by the end of the level, other times you need to restart the level since some of it can get closed off if you advance too far. To find the right enemies, just check your score and see if you get new points when you kill the "same" enemy twice.

After this step you will have unlocked:

Hypnotist

Step 4: Earn the Time Attack trophy on every level

This is probably the most difficult trophy in the game, which is why you should wait to attempt it until you have been through each level a couple of times. You will need to know exactly where to go and what to do in order to finish the levels fast enough to beat the goal time. Some of the times you need to beat are pretty generous but on most levels you will probably finish with just a few seconds left. There is no real trick or easy way to this trophy so all I can say is to keep replaying each level until you know it well enough to beat the time. Try using punk Giana and dash from enemy to enemy as much as possible to save some time, it's harder and requires more precision to use her than cute Giana but on some levels it almost seems like a necessity.

After this step you will have unlocked:

Microsleeper

Step 5: Clean up

The only thing left to do at this point will be getting the 5 stars on every level. Most levels have some carefully hidden gems that will be hard to find, it's recommended you use the video guide that's linked to under the "Brilliant" trophy. You need to get about 90% of the gems and die no more than 5 times (9 times on the last level) to get all 5 stars.

After this step you will have unlocked:

Brilliant!

12 trophies ( 9  )

  • Unlock the power to warp your dreams.

Simply shift the world by pressing or .

  • Defeat Hansel and Gretel

Unlocks after defeating "Hansel and Gretel" at the end of level 1-6.

This boss can be tricky if you don't know what to do. You need to shift to the other sister so the spike thing that's moving back and forth below comes up and hits its tail or head, it has 3 different attacks you need to avoid:

1: The boss will start by moving from the right to the left of the screen, and whether you hit it or not, you want to keep to the very left until it's getting close and then jump and twirl over it.

2: After you hit the boss it will start to spin and quickly rush into to the opposite wall, this is easiest to avoid if you stand next to that wall and again you want to wait until it gets close but this time you need to be punk Giana and jump straight up followed by an upward dash. Stand still next to the wall after this and it won't hit you.

3: After the spin attack, some rocks will fall from the ceiling but these shouldn't be too difficult to avoid as you have time to see where they're going to fall. You need to hit it with the spike three times to defeat it.

  • Defeat Octor Freud

This unlocks after defeating "Octor Freud" at the end of level 2-7.

On this boss it's a little more obvious what you need to do. It will slap its tentacles on the platforms you're standing on three times (three waves) so you need to avoid them. These attacks are random but they're easy to memorize after a few tries. After that attack, a different looking tentacle will come up and you need to jump on it to damage the boss. Just wait a few seconds and when you see it starting to come down, jump high and start twirling to the platform next to you but let the tentacle land on it first so that you can in turn land on that. I suggest sticking to cute Giana and never shifting here so that you can twirl and don't need to think about which platforms you can stand on or not. It also seems like the best starting position when avoiding the tentacles is the second platform from the right.

  • Defeat Gurglewocky

This unlocks after defeating "Gurglewocky" at the end of level 3-10.

This boss is really difficult since it has so many different attacks and it can also be quite random. Most of the time you should stick to jumping on one of the grassy areas on the walls, except for when the smaller fireballs come down/up because they can actually hit you there. When they start to come down, jump to a platform for a second and wait until it's safe to jump back to the wall. Always play as cute Giana so you can twirl, except for when he spits out the meteorite (this is important) - right before he does that, shift to punk so the meteorite is blue otherwise you won't be able to jump on it later with cute Giana. Don't forget to make use of the moving platforms below (especially when you need to avoid the beam and hit the meteorite). When he starts the beam attack, try to be at the top of the screen so you have time to see where it's going, it will either be clockwise or counter-clockwise and you always need to move in the same direction or it will hit you. When the beam hits the meteorite it will cool down and stop so that you can jump on it. You need to do this three times. You always get a pink shield gem after the second meteorite.

  • Collect a red gem while twirling

Only cute Giana can twirl but only punk Giana can collect red gems so to unlock this trophy, you need to do a twirl with cute Giana (press and hold ) then shift to punk while twirling and pick up a red gem.

  • Jump or dash onto three owls without touching the ground

As the description says, you simply need to jump/twirl/bounce between three enemies without touching the ground.

  • Use a spiky box like a trampoline

Through the course of the game you will find little boxes with red eyes and spikes coming out of them when you go near. Shift to cute Giana to turn the box into a green monster that will walk back and forth and jump on it, then shift to punk Giana and the box will be upside down. It is now safe to stand on and by doing so you will bounce into the air and unlock this trophy.

  • Obtain five stars in all levels

How many stars you get when you finish a level depends on how many gems you have collected and how many times you have died. You need to collect at least 90% of the gems and die less than six times (meaning you can die five times but no more, except for the final stage where you can die up to nine times and still get all stars). There are special "master" gems in every level that are larger and always hidden, these count as ten gems when collected but other than that they are not related to this trophy.

  • Unlock Hardcore Mode

To unlock Hardcore Mode you need to get at least four stars on any of the boss levels. Getting four stars on the first boss will unlock Hardcore for the first world and so on, you don't need to get four stars on every boss level to unlock this trophy just on one of them.

  • Unlock Über Hardcore Mode

To unlock Über Hardcore Mode you need to finish every level on Hardcore, where checkpoints are disabled so if you die you start at the beginning of the level. Thankfully if you reach one of the bosses and happen to die while fighting it, you get to retry from there and don't need to start from the beginning again.

  • Obtain a trophy in all Time Attack levels

To obtain a trophy in Time Attack you need to finish every level within the time shown in yellow in the level select screen. In some levels there is no margin at all for errors but in others you can even die a couple of times and still finish with quite a lot of time left. It's recommended to save this trophy for one of the last playthroughs since you should know all the levels pretty well by then.

  • Obtain a trophy in all Score Attack levels

To obtain a trophy in Score Attack you need to finish every level with more points than the score shown in yellow at the level select screen. You get points for killing enemies and for collecting gems and you get a multiplier (up to x10) for collecting them as quickly as possible. You can "cheat" in Score Attack by killing respawning enemies over and over. It does not work if you die and kill the same enemy again, but nearly every level has enemies that will keep respawning on their own (sometimes they come out of vents in the walls) and these count every time you kill them.
