Saves and Difficulty
When you start a New Game you will be asked what difficulty you wish to play the game on. Once you have selected the difficulty you are fully committed to it, you can not change halfway through or even post completion when using level select. The only way to change it is to start a 'New Game' but the consequence of that is you will lose all of your progress which you have made in levels and the weapons which you have collected etc. Think carefully about this as it is possible to obtain all trophies under the game's hardest difficulty. In fact this guide encourages you to do it hard way but take note that if you start on one of the lower difficulties, it will take longer to Platinum the game as you will be forced into another full playthrough.

Bugs and Glitches
You must remember that this game originally came out in 2004 and, although at the time it was quite a revolutionary and ambitious game, it does have a lot of bugs and glitches which can be a hindrance when trying to complete levels. Glitches can come in extreme forms such as your disguise just being randomly blown and guards just start shooting at you. This usually stems from your suspicion bar just spiralling out of control in a unjustifiable manner; this can lead to guards following you for no apparent reason and they will relentlessly keep on checking your ID until your cover is blown.

Mission 4: Beldingford Manor can be particular glitchy in terms of getting your disguise blown, this is because the manor's space is relatively confined and it is therefore easy to bump into people. There is a small chance that they will just stalk you until your cover gets blown. It can be very vexing and considering there are a lot of objectives to complete, it can be very taxing in regards to the time which you will unnecessarily be forced into spending on this mission. Also, the Stable Boy inside the barn can be a real pain as sometimes he will be fine but other times he will freak out and alert the nearby guards.

In Mission 3: The Bjarkhov Bomb (when you blow up the submarine) sometimes the game will start giving loads of alerts, which will effectively ruin your chances of getting the Silent Assassin Rating for the level. It can be down to luck for you to succeed at times!

Do not be too disheartened by these glitches as they will by no means prohibit your chances in Platinuming this game, they will just frustrate you from time to time and a few level restarts may be needed. To put it into a better context you can try to complete a level ten times, all in the same way, five will be perfect and the other five will be failures.

Killing Animals
In some of the levels you may encounter animals. Killing them will have no affect on any of the kill related trophies, nor will they affect your end-of-level rating for that matter.

Walkthrough

Start a New Game, select Professional Difficulty and complete the game fully under this mode in order to unlock: Normal Mode Complete, Expert Mode Complete and Professional Mode Complete. Complete every level with a Silent Assassin Rating for Silent Assassin, 5 Normal Silent Assassins, 5 Expert Silent Assassins, 5 Professional Silent Assassins and most importantly you will get a weapon for each level that you complete providing you get the rating. Building on this make sure you pick up every weapon possible that is obtainable in every level. Educate yourself on the weapon's whereabouts and with careful planning you can make great inroads on all the weapon related trophies. You will definitely have to replay one or two levels twice in order to get all of the weapons. You can complete the game then go back to the levels where there were more weapons to be collected but personally I prefer the more methodical route where you can complete the level then redo it immediately afterwards. This is so you can clean-up and collect the remainder of the weapons whilst the mission itself is still fresh in your memory. Try not to complete levels without collecting any of it's weapons, otherwise you have wasted an opportunity to make some progress in: All Firearms Collected, All Melee Weapons Found, All Handguns Collected, All Machine Guns Collected, All Assault Rifles Collected, All Shotguns Collected, All Sniper Rifles Collected and All Heavy Weapons Collected. In Mission 9: The Wang Fou Incident make sure to pick up the Orthmeyer's Keycard and replay Mission 1: Asylum Aftermath and use the Key Card to gain access to the Minigun and the Gold Dessert Eagle Dual for the Minigun and Double Eagle trophies.

1st Kill, 1st Mission Complete and Firey Fire are all story-related and can not be missed. Throughout your playthrough make sure you poison someone for Poisonous and sedate someone using the syringe for Sleep Well.

After your first playthrough and you have collected all weapons, load up Mission 7: Traditions of the Trade. Go into the hotel unarmed and in this order: Drown Fritz Fuchs for Floater then kill 47 people for 47 Kills In A Mission and Killed The Wrong Guy. Furthermore if you have not yet killed anyone by shooting them in the head in your full playthrough, then do so now for Headshot. Before you extract, kill the Ghost for Ghost Buster and collect the Spas-12 from the florist for Termination then you will have Perfect Assassin .

29 trophies ( 10  12  5  )

  • Unlock all trophies

Obtain all the other Hitman: Contracts trophies and you will earn this Platinum.

  • You completed the first mission on any level

Kill either a target, guard or a civilian and the trophy will pop immediately upon doing so. Note: The Syringe will not have a fatal outcome! Considering you have to kill targets in order to progress, this trophy is unmissable.

  • A Silent Assassin rating has been awarded

For this trophy you need to gain one Silent Assassin Rating, the trophy will pop during the end-of-level Statistics screen. At the end of each mission you get awarded a rating which is measurement of your performance in that particular level. The Silent Assassin Rating is the best Rating you can obtain in the game. When you complete a mission you will see a stat screen; on the right-hand side there is an 'Aggression Bar' this has to be virtually empty and just above it there is a 'Stealth Bar' this has to be pretty much full in order to achieve a Silent Assassin Rating.

Note: The timing you complete a level in; the difficulty that you play the game on and the amount of in-level saves you use will not affect your end-of-mission rating. Ideally you want to complete a level without any alerts, kills, shots fired and this will practically guarantee you a Silent Assassin Rating. Here are some conditions which are paramount if you want to achieve this rating:

    • You can only kill the targets that you have been contracted for. You will know exactly who your targets are by pressing which will activate the map, they are represented as the Red Circle. You cannot kill any innocent people, you can however knock them out with your Syringe. You are permitted to kill only one guard, guards are illustrated as the Orange Circle on your map. Naturally you would think that if someone is carrying a gun then they are a guard, this is not always true. For example in Mission 7: Traditions of the Trade the armed security officers are actually recognised as innocents, therefore if you were to kill one this will stop you from getting the rating. Just bare this in mind if you intend on killing someone.
    • If you use a Firearm to kill your target, it must be a clean shot. By clean shot I mean you must shoot them directly in the head which will deliver a fatal blow with just one bullet. You can not shoot multiple times. As after three shots this will effectively end your chances of getting the rating. You can use Melee Weapons to take your target out. Providing you do not get spotted then this is fine. Poisoning, drowning or using pillows to take your target out is also fine.
    • At the top of the screen you get little alerts in Red writing. You are allowed only two of these if you receive any more then this will prohibit you in getting the rating. Alert messages range from: 'Your cover has been blown' 'Nearby guards have been alerted' and 'Guards have found a dead/unconscious person'. Just to clarify, you must receive no more than two of the alerts mentioned above within a mission otherwise you will not get the Silent Assassin Rating.
    • You must not receive no more than one close encounter. A close encounter is when your cover gets blown either from a guard, target or civilian/VIP.
    • You do not have to finish missions in your suit, completing a level in another disguise will have no affect on your end-of-level rating.

There are some exceptions to the rules of the rating in Missions 3 and 6: The Bjarkhov Bomb and Deadly Cargo respectively. In The Bjarkhov Bomb you have to blow up a submarine, this will cause 3 or 4 soldiers to die as a result. However a pardon is granted and it will not count towards your end-of-level statistics. The same also applies in Deadly Cargo. If you do not extract quickly enough after completing your objects, then the SWAT team will launch an assault on the ship thus killing numerous guards.

It is by no means easy to get a Silent Assassin Rating, you can do everything perfectly up to and including extraction, only for the alerts come flooding in. There is an art to it, it may well be the case that you will have to redo some levels a few times in order to grasp the perfect route to ensure you can dance your way through them from start to finish without being spotted by the guards. Here some tips and factors that you may well want to take into account when trying to earn this rating.

Get a disguise and maintain your Cover
It is generally the case that you can not complete a mission just in your suit, most of the time you will reacquire a disguise in order to pass through places smoothly. To acquire a disguise you may have to knock out/kill a guard or sometimes there is a change of clothing just lying around to be changed into. Once you have your disguise it is vital that you maintain your cover. If your cover gets blown then realistically your chances of getting a Silent Assassin rating are gone along with it, this is because every guard within the compound tends to rush over and investigate. Keeping your disguise is relatively simple, refrain from making any erratic movements such as running and stopping or zig-zagging in opposite directions as this causes suspicion and, depending on what difficulty mode you're on, your cover could get blown as result.

Passing guards who have the same disguise can be a bit hairy but it is doable. Walk with conviction, do not delay, walk straight pass, do not touch them and nine times at of ten you will be fine. Sometimes the game can randomly glitch on you and you will get caught, but there is nothing you can do about it really. Lastly the music will sometimes change so don't worry as this does not mean you have been spotted but you are practically on the verge of being so.

    Syringe and Fibre Wire
In every mission you have a Syringe at your disposal. The affect of this is, if used correctly, you can knock somebody out for around 7 minutes. Which is great for getting disguises or bypassing a vigilant guard/civilian who is obstructing your pathway. The main advantage is that it does not have a fatal outcome and therefore it will have no affect on your rating. However this can be a double-edged sword because the person who you knocked out can regain consciousness and be a complete hindrance. What usually happens is he will run, alert the nearby guards and then they will be looking for somebody suspicious in the disguise that you have just taken. However if you do not take his disguise he will just wake up and continue like nothing has happened. Another drawback is that it takes 5-8 seconds to administer a full dose, which can arouse a few problems. For example a guard or a civilian could walk by and spot you.

The Syringe is a great short term solution if you are confident in taking your victim's disguise, hiding his body and are able to complete the level's objectives quickly but as a long term solution, as discussed above, you can encounter some problems especially in the longer levels where it takes time to complete.

An alternative to using the Syringe is the Fibre Wire, like the Syringe you start with it in every mission. It is one of 47's trademark weapons (the other being the Silverballers) and unlike the Syringe it deals with your opponent instantly. Providing you hide the body well then you can have no worries. However its main drawback is that it has a fatal outcome so use this tactic in moderation. The way you use the Fibre Wire is very much the same as you would use the Syringe, sneak up to someone and from behind press . If you need to know how to use the syringe then see Sleep Well.

    Maps
This is only applicable if you are playing the game on Normal or Expert Difficulty but by pressing it will show you a map and it is a live monitor of the movements of every single person in the level. Furthermore it shows points of interest which can be disguises or Poison and so on. This feature is invaluable and it allows you to plan your routes through every level perfectly, because sometimes when trying to kill your target the last thing you want is a guard walking in on you. Lastly it also informs you of where the exits are which is the last thing you should do after finishing that level's objectives.

Note: When playing on Professional Difficulty you will still get the map feature however it only shows the whereabouts of your target, points of interest and extraction points.

  • 5 Silent Assassin ratings awarded on the Normal difficulty

This is fully explained in 5 Professional Silent Assassins.

  • 5 Silent Assassin ratings awarded on the Expert difficulty

This is fully explained in 5 Professional Silent Assassins.

  • 5 Silent Assassin ratings awarded on the Professional difficulty

For this trophy you will need to obtain 5 Silent Assassin Ratings under hardest difficulty of the game – Professional Mode. The trophy will pop upon completing your 5th mission with a Silent Assassin Rating. Also note that this trophy will also unlock 5 Normal Silent Assassins and 5 Expert Silent Assassins because the difficulty trophies stack. If you are intent on Platinuming this game, then this trophy is therefore unmissable because you have to a Silent Assassin Rating in every mission in order to unlock hidden weapons for the weapon related trophies. Lastly, you do not have to get the rating in consecutive missions.

See Silent Assassin for tips and conditions on how to get the rating. Also see the Professional Difficulty, Silent Assassin and Weapons Guide for a written/video guide on how to get this rating on all levels.

  • Completed normal difficulty

This is fully explained in Professional Mode Complete.

  • Completed expert difficulty

This is fully explained in Professional Mode Complete.

  • Completed professional difficulty

There are 12 missions in Hitman: Contracts, you have to complete all of them on the hardest difficulty i.e Professional Mode and the trophy will pop during the closing scene of Mission 12: Hunter and Hunted. The Difficulty trophies stack, thus you will earn Normal Mode Complete and Expert Mode Complete for completing the game on Professional.

There are 4 variations between the difficulty settings:

    • Saves: When playing on Normal you will get 7 saves per mission, on Expert you will get 2 and on Professional you get none.
    • Health: In terms of how much health you get under each difficulty, it is equal. When playing the game under Professional Difficulty, if you get shot at by a guard, you will incur a greater loss of health than you would do if you were playing under Normal Difficulty. It is hard to quantify the difference between the three difficulties because of the variety of weapons. Some are more effective than others but on Normal you can sustain approx 12 bullet hits before you die. On Professional it is around 5 bullets before you are in serious trouble but bear in mind some guns are stronger than others. Finally, health does not regenerate.
    • Maps: On Expert difficulty you will have a limited version of the in-game map, you will be able to see where everyone is but there will be no colour differentiation as they will be represented in a greyish colour. On Professional it will be even more limited as you will only see the targets, exit points and electrical switches.
    • Playing on Normal and Expert you will start every level with a Silenced Pistol. However no matter what difficulty you are on, you will always start with the: Silverballers, Fibre Wire and a Syringe.
  • All Firearms collected and displayed in the training room

For this trophy you will need all Firearms collected and on display in the Training Room. A Firearm is any weapon that fires bullets, Melee Weapons such as Knives and Pool Cues will not count towards this trophy.

Not Glitched: Please bear in mind that after collecting all the Firearms you may have to load a random level to allow the trophy to pop. For example: If the W2000 Rife was the final Firearm you collected and you are waiting on the statistics screen for the level that you have just farmed the rifle from, there is a chance that the trophy may not pop. If this is the case then save the game, start up any level and the trophy will pop at the start. This is the case for all the weapon related trophies.

Some weapons are concealable and some are not; some weapons are unique to certain missions; whereas some can be found in pretty much all missions and some you can get by getting the Silent Assassin Rating. When you choose the difficulty which you want to play the game on, there is no way you can change it without having to start from scratch with a new save. See 'Saves and Difficulty' in the Roadmap for further info.

Warning: You need to earn a Silent Assassin rating in every mission in order to collect all the firearms. Furthermore if you happen to lose a weapon which you have got by getting the rating, then you may have to restart your game.

There are 2 vital points which you will need to take into account when trying to get this trophy.

    • For a weapon to be considered 'collected' you must carry it all the way to the end of the mission. It is not the simple case of just picking it up and bang, it is in your collection. For the small weapons that are concealable you won't have a problem, it is the much larger weapons such as the Assault Rifles, Shotguns and so on (which are clearly visible) that may cause a few problems when completing a mission. For example: If you are dressed as a Russian Soldier they tend to carry an AK 47 so if you are trying to carry a different weapon such as a Shotgun to extraction, then clearly this kind of weapon is not part of the soldier's uniform. Problems can arise if you are trying to maintain cover because getting too close to a soldier will result in your disguise being blown. Be prepared, as sometimes it may be necessary to use trial and error and the odd restart to work out the perfect route to ensure that the weapon is brought home safely. Lastly if you are killing a guard in order to get his weapon/disguise then make sure his body is well hidden otherwise, if found, the guards will be looking for a 'Suspicious' person wearing that particular disguise. Furthermore it is strongly recommended that you kill the guard you are acquiring the weapon from as opposed to sedating him. This is because if you do not extract quickly the unconscious guard will awaken, run around naked telling everyone what happened to him then they will be on high alert!
    • If you are using Level Select to clean up the remainder of the weapons, before you start any missions you will be on a briefing screen where Diana will give you info about the contract. You will also get the option to take weapons into the level. As good as this sounds it's really a double-edged sword because if you were to drop one of the weapons here, you will lose it and as a result you will have to acquire it again. Furthermore if you re-pick up a weapon which you already have in your collection then drop it, you will not lose it. For example: If you have already acquired the Desert Eagle and you re-pick it up in another mission, then you are at liberty to drop it without fear of losing it from your collection.

Although you can shoot you way to extraction, it is very risky especially if you are playing on Professional Difficulty. It is highly recommended that you take the stealthy path, to ensure that you farm the your newly acquired weapons home safely. See the Firearms Guide below for a written and video guide for all the Firearms.

    Firearms Guide

This is a brief overview of all firearms and the best level for them to be obtained. Next to each weapon is a time link which will pinpoint you to the exact location in the video to where they are found and it will also tell you how to extract with them safely. If you are looking for a more in-depth written explanation of the location of the weapons then see the Professional Difficulty, Silent Assassin and Weapons Guide for a full level guide. Also see the Roadmap for a checklist you can use to keep track of weapons and what level they can be obtained in.

  • You have found all Melee Weapons

For this trophy you have to pick up all 8 Melee Weapons for it to pop. Unlike the Firearms, you do not need to carry the Melee Weapons all the way to the end of the level. It is just the simplicity of picking the item up and then dropping it again. For example: If you pick up the Pool Cue, for this trophy all you have to do is drop it. However if later on in the level you die, when redoing the level you must re-collect and drop the Pool Cue again. It will only record the fact that you picked it up once you have actually completed the level have saved your game.

This trophy will pop after collecting all 4 Assault Rifles, which are: The M4 Carbine, M4 Carbine Silenced, AK47 and AK47 Silenced.

See either All Firearms Collected or the Professional Difficulty, Silent Assassin and Weapons Guide for a better account on how to get them.

  • All Shotguns collected and displayed in the training room

This trophy will pop after collecting all 4 Shotguns, which are: The Spas 12, Double-barrelled, Sawn-off and Dual Sawn-off.

See either All Firearms Collected or the Professional Difficulty, Silent Assassin and Weapons Guide for a better account on how to get them.

  • All Sniper Rifles collected and displayed in the training room

This trophy will pop after collecting all 6 Sniper Rifles, which are: The PGM, PGM Silenced, W2000, R93, Dragunov and Enforcer.

See either All Firearms Collected or the Professional Difficulty, Silent Assassin and Weapons Guide for a better account on how to get them.

  • All Heavy Weapons collected and displayed in the training room

This trophy will pop after collecting both Heavy Weapons, which are: The M60 and the Minigun

See either All Firearms Collected or the Professional Difficulty, Silent Assassin and Weapons Guide for a better account on how to get them.

  • A successful kill has been performed

Kill either a target, guard or a civilian and the trophy will pop immediately upon doing so. Note: The Syringe will not have a fatal outcome! Considering you have to kill targets in order to progress, this trophy is unmissable.

  • A mission has been completed with precisely 47 kills

For this trophy you must kill exactly 47 people within a mission along with completing it's objectives and extracting, the trophy will pop during the Statistics screen. On the Statistics screen there are two important stats which will require your attention: 'Enemies Killed' and 'Innocents Killed' both of these will give you a figure, if they add up to to 47, you are eligible for the trophy. Your targets, which are represented as a Red coloured circle on your map, will not count as one of your 47 kills. Only guards, VIPs and civilians count.

Note: Not all missions have 47 or more people in them, therefore during your first playthrough you may want to be conscious of this trophy. Even though there is a guide for this trophy for a particular level, you may find another level which is better suited for you. As you play through the game always bear in mind what will be the best level for you. It is strongly recommended that you attempt this trophy after getting All Firearms Collected because you are going to have to arm yourself with loads of weapons. If you do lose any weapons whilst attempting this trophy, then do not save your game! This trophy is easily doable under any difficulty so don't be put off if you are playing on Professional.

Keeping track of how many kills you do can be tricky and tedious. Walking around actively making a mental note of the dead bodies or counting them via your live map can work to some extent but the most reliable way is to count in threes or fives mentally, then pause the game so you can write that number down on a piece of paper as you work your way through. As soon as you get over 30, start writing down the deaths one-by-one on your piece of paper. Either method is fine but I strongly recommend that you use the second one i.e personally keeping note of who you kill. This is because if there is a mixture of civilians and guards the guards may kill some of the civilians when they are trying to kill you. All this means when you count up the deaths on your map or just by walking around, there is no evidence that proves that you killed any of them. You will know when a civilian has been unfortunate enough to get caught in the crossfire, because at the end of level stats screen there will be a number next to 'Innocents Harmed' and this will not count towards your 47 deaths.

If for some reason you are having difficulties in getting this trophy whilst playing under Professional Mode. Doing it this way you can start a new game on Normal, complete the first mission then attempt it on Mission 2: The Meat Kings Party. Only start a new game if you have collected all the weapons, otherwise you will have to start from scratch and re-earn all of them for the weapon trophies.

Note: If you are playing on a lower difficulty and you save your progress midway through the level then you happen to die and reload, I can confirm this will not prevent you from getting this trophy or any of the other kill related trophies for that matter. Just remember at the time of saving to make sure you know how many people you have killed up to that point.

Traditions of the Trade: 47 Kills Guide
Stock up on lots of weapons so you have full of ammunition which will allow you to unleash hell on the hotel. I recommend using the M60 as it is the most effective/reliable weapon in the game and because it's reload time is faster than any other weapon in the game.

First off shoot everyone at the front door (you can do this at a considerable distance) then people will start running out of the hotel, pick them off as they come out. Keep popping in and out of the Main Lobby via the front door, shooting one of two people at a time then sharply back out of the door again. As soon as you leave more will exit so pick them off as well. Repeat this process until there is no-one left, on a good day you can usually score about 25-30 deaths. Count up either on your map or actively walking round and numbering each body you see, then write that number down on a piece of paper.

Your next move will be to explore all three floors of the hotel and kill everyone you see, make a note of each death on your piece of paper whilst doing this. Also be cautious when lock picking doors as they can take an age to unlock, just be wary of the time it takes and make sure no-one is around. This is because you may get ambushed which will incur an unnecessary loss of health which is the last thing you need. After clearing all of the hallways, you will be a few short of the required target. Try rooms 108, 199, 208 and 315. Inside these rooms will be more victims which you can kill and they will not leave their rooms unless you open the door. When you have 47 kills and completed all of your objectives, extract and the trophy will pop on the Statistics screen.

Also note that if you kill the Ghost for the Ghost Buster trophy, then it will not count as one of your 47 deaths.

  • A successful headshot has been performed

This is self-explanatory. All you have to do is shoot either a civilian, VIP, guard or a target in the head and the trophy will pop straight afterwards. For some you may find it easier to get the Headshot in 1st person mode. You can do this by pressing as it does give you a more accurate shot. This trophy can potentially be missed if you sweep through the game stealthily, however the best chance is in the last mission as you can shoot your target clearly in the head – see the Professional Difficulty, Silent Assassin and Weapons Guide and read Mission 12: Hunter and Hunted.

If you do not get it in your initial playthrough, then go for this trophy when you are going for 47 Kills in a Mission.

  • An innocent person has been killed

For this trophy you will need to kill an Innocent Person, this can be either a civilian or a VIP. They are represented on your map as a white coloured circle. It is vital to note that killing a guard (Orange Circle) or the mission's target (Red Circle) will not count for this trophy! If you play the game stealthy and in the right 'spirit' then this trophy can be easily missed in your first full playthrough. If that does happen then it is not a problem, because you will get it when attempting 47 Kills in a Mission as you have to kill civilians in order to reach 47 kills.

  • You knocked a victim out

For this trophy you have to successfully use the Syringe on someone then the trophy will pop immediately afterwards.

On every level you are equipped with a Syringe and it can be found in your innovatory. Depending what difficulty you are playing the game on, the amount of doses can vary. To use the Syringe equip it by pressing to enter your innovatory, scroll until you find the Syringe and press to equip it. Be aware that if anyone sees you with it, they will be alarmed. Find a victim with his back turned from you and sneak behind him by holding . Once you are right behind him, press to use your Syringe which will put your victim to sleep.

You can run and attack with the Syringe but it is 50/50 whether it will work or not. Also if someone spots you, then your chances are blown as it becomes impossible to attack someone with it when they are running around like a headless chicken. Very much like Poisonous it would be impressive if you played the game without using the Syringe. There are many opportunities in pretty much every level where the use of the syringe would be beneficial.

  • You poisoned a victim

For this trophy you have to successfully poison either a portion of food or drink, your victim then has to consume the spiked substance leading to either a fatality or they will have a sudden urge to go to the toilet. Once the effects kick in, the trophy will pop.

When you are planning on poisoning someone you have to pick up the actual Poison. Usually it is conveniently placed near the actual item of food or drink that you intend to spike. Once the Poison has been found, find something to poison with it and the game will prompt you to Poison it by pressing . Make sure no one is around, otherwise your cover will be blown and as a result it will prevent your victim from sampling the poisoned item. Furthermore if you blow your cover by going in all guns blazing then try to spike the food/drink, due to your aggressive manor the victim will be on high alert and therefore will be less likely to sample the poisoned concoction.

Technically speaking it is possible to complete the game without poisoning anyone but that is only the case if you play the game aggressively. If played stealthily, then poisoning targets etc does make life easier and ideal but the first real opportunity is in Mission 3: The Bjarkhov Bomb – see the Professional Difficulty, Silent Assassin and Weapons Guide on how to Poison someone in that particular level.

  • You used explosives on a victim

For this trophy you have to kill via an explosion. There are a handful of opportunities, but the first and unmissable opportunity is during Mission 3: The Bjarkhov Bomb. Considering you have to blow up a submarine as one of your mission objectives; this trophy is therefore story-related and cannot be missed. If you are unsure of how to complete Mission 3, then refer to the Professional Difficulty, Silent Assassin and Weapons Guide for a guide on how to complete the level along with getting this trophy.

Secret trophies

  • You picked up the Gold Desert Eagle Dual

For this trophy you need to pick up the Gold Desert Eagle Dual, they are located in Mission 1: Asylum Aftermath but like the Mingun you will need Orthmeyer's Keyard to gain access to them. See Minigun for a guide on how to get them.

  • You picked up the Minigun

For this trophy you have to pick up the Minigun. The Mingun can be found in Mission 1: Asylum Aftermath, however the area where the gun is stored is out-of-bounds. You need Orthmeyer's Keycard to gain entry, this is located in Mission 9: The Wang Fou Incident. Complete all of the mission's objectives then collect the Keycard before extracting. Note: You do not have to immediately play the first mission after getting the card, it will stay in your inventory permanently.

Glitch: Do not go behind the desk to pick-up Orthmeyer's Keycard as the game may glitch and you will be unable to leave the desk. This will force you to restart the mission. To be on the safe side make sure you pick up the Keycard from in front of the desk, not behind it.

If you are finding it hard navigating through darken mansion when trying to obtain Orthmeyer's Keycard, if you complete the level then replay it there will be lights switched on so you can see where you are going. Thanks to Darth_Krid for this tip.

Orthmeyer's Keycard, Minigun and Gold Desert Eagle Dual Guide
Complete all of the missions in Mission 9: The Wang Fou Incident. Once this is done your next move is to the find a Dragon's disguise, which can be located in a small room on the 2nd floor of the restaurant. The quickest way to get there is to climb up the ladder on the outside of the restaurant then sneak to the first door on your right, pick the lock and inside will be the dragon's disguise.

Go down to the Basement, immediately turn right through the double doors and head straight through the corridors through some more doors until you reach another elevator. Head up to the Mansion and once up there it will be pitch black. From exiting the elevator turn left and head through the double doors at the far side. Walk through, take a right and go up the stairs through the doors at the top. Turn right and then head straight on through the double doors into the office. On the desk is Orthmeyer's Keycard, pick it up from the front of the desk. After you have the card, backtrack all the way back outside, then head to the exit point for extraction

Load Mission 1: Asylum Aftermath, pick up the car key at the start then run through two sets of doors into a curved corridor. Take the doors at end, then on your right is a locked door which you can now open with the key card. Quickly equip a weapon and kill the inmate who wields the Minigun, kill him quickly otherwise he will fire at you. Before you exit take his disguise as it will help you later on! Back through the double doors that you unlocked earlier, take the single door on your right and walk along the gangway leading through another door. Cut across the room to the other side through some more double doors and take the immediate left through another set of double doors. Walk to the end through a set of double doors, then take a immediate left through another set and walk through the long corridor to the end. Go through the doors and take right down some steps. Go through the double doors and on the floor there will be the Gold Desert Eagle Dual.

Make your way to the elevator and go up to the first floor. Exit the lift and turn left then right through the double doors. You want to slowly walk into the circular lobby until a SWAT team member spots you - this should not take many steps before you are spotted. Once you have seen, backtrack through the double doors and stay in line of the corner of the corridor. This is so when the SWAT team members enter through the door, start firing the Minigun and backtrack round the corner near the elevator. As soon as you are fully round the corner, your Minigun will start to fire and soon as this happens proceed forward and kill everyone in sight. You are going to have to do this trick two or three times, when you enter the circular lobby and no one advances then the area is clear. Drop your Minigun, run through the lobby to where the stairs are, take the door on the left and go up the spiral staircase. Kill the SWAT officer who patrols up there, then take the Enforcer Sniper Rifle from the cabinet and make your way onto the balcony. Snipe the officer who patrols the getaway car, the backtrack to where you left the Minigun, pick it up and your pathway to extraction should be clear.

  • You drowned someone

Note: This trophy description is misleading as it can only be achieved in Mission 7.

This hidden trophy is unique to Mission 7: Traditions of the Trade. You have to drown the mission's target (Fritz Fuchs) and the trophy will pop immediately upon doing so.

The timing for this is vital. From the level's starting point, drop all your Firearms and head inside the hotel. Once inside the Main Lobby, head to the double doors on the left-hand corner near the stairs. There is a security officer who patrols near the double doors; make sure the coast is clear before picking the lock on the door. Once through, run into the changing area and just before you enter the swimming pool area. Wait for the security officer to walk from right to left – make sure you are well hidden otherwise he will spot you. Now sneak into the large swimming pool room, turn left and kill the security officer with the Fibre Wire. Note: It is vital you do not get caught otherwise this will make Fuchs nervous and he will leave the swimming pool for good, along with the chances of getting this trophy. Once the security officer is dealt with enter the swimming pool in sneak mode and go right up behind Fuchs. Equip the Fibre Wire and once up close press , this will initiate a short cutscene which will show Fuchs being drowned.

  • You retrieved the SPAS-12 from the florist

This hidden trophy can only be achieved in Mission 7: Traditions of the Trade. If you read Diana's note at the start, it says that there some flowers to be collected inside the hotel. To make matters worst the Florist is closed which in itself presents a problem.

From the mission's starting point, drop all your Firearms then head inside the hotel, in the Main Lobby take the stairs up and then turn left up some more stairs through security scanner into a small lobby. Take a left then go through the first set of double doors just passed the florist leading into a bar. Go over and talk to the bartender, 47 will persuade him that he needs a break and he will temporarily leave. Note: You can only initiate a conversation with the bartender if you are dressed in your suit. Once the bartender is out of the way sneak behind the bar and go through the door. Make sure the security officer is not watching you whilst you sneak behind bar, otherwise he will follow you in and ask you to leave. If that does happen quickly rush in and pick up the flowers then leave, there is a chance that you will get away with it. Go through the door, turn right and take the next two doors straight on into the Florist. There is a desk which will have a flower box on it. Pick it up and for the trophy to pop you have to press to open your innovatory then select the flower box by pressing .

Remember when you get the Shotgun, if there is anyone nearby then your cover will be blown. Either find a secluded room for some privacy or open it when you have no intentions in completing the mission in a stealthy manner. The most appropriate time to get this trophy is when you are going for 47 Kills In A Mission, just before extract.

  • You killed the ghost

This hidden trophy can only be achieved in Mission 7: Traditions of the Trade. All you have to do is kill the Ghost and the only way to do that is to use the Fibre Wire.

He appears in a few places but the best place is the East Wing, first floor corridor. From the Main Lobby turn right pass the Reception and go through the double doors then make sure those doors are shut for privacy, pick the locks on the next set of double doors which has a sign reading 'Hotel Wing Closed' on them. Now through them turn left and run straight to end of the short corridor through another set of double doors. In the dark hallway equip your Fibre Wire, run, then turn left and keep to the right next to the windows. Run all the way down to the Ghost, time you get to him he will be wondering off on your left through the wall. You will need to turn left sharply and spam to kill him, if successful then the trophy will pop. This may take a few practice runs to perfect. If you do miss him then simply backtrack through the double doors, wait for a couple of seconds then re-enter and the Ghost will have respawned.
