Introduction:
Welcome to my first ever guide. Mortal Kombat makes a big splash on the new Vita handheld gaming console after last year's successful release on the home consoles. This version includes almost everything that the console version had to offer as well as exclusive content, including a bonus challenge tower and plenty of bonus costumes whilst also making use of the Vita’s touch and tilt controls.

There are multiple game modes available and the trophies can be obtained in any order as you see fit, however the order specified below is the route that I followed in trying to earn the Platinum as quickly as possible. The Platinum is a very hard one to get considering it is recommended that the mastering trophies are boosted online with a friend.

Step 1: Tutorials
Complete the Tutorial and Fatality trainer for two easy trophies, which are A For Effort and License To Kill respectively. If you perform the Fatality in the Fatality Tutorial using the touch screen, you will also obtain Touch And Go.

Step 2: Story Mode
Complete the Mortal Kombat story on beginner difficulty (the story mode difficulty can be changed in the Options menu) and you will earn the Halfway There and Back In Time trophies. This will take you around five to six hours to finish.

Step 3: Arcade Tag Ladder with Cyrax and Sektor
This is the classic Mortal Kombat Arcade Ladder which involves fighting ten matches of CPU opponents and ending in a final showdown with the boss, Shao Kahn. You can either play through this solo or with two fighters as a tag team. I would recommend setting the options to one round with a 60 second time limit so that the matches are completed quicker and you get enough time to charge up the super meter to perform an X-Ray attack.

On the first run, choose Cyrax and Sektor and play through the tag ladder on beginner difficulty without blocking (don’t use the R button at all). Also in the process, make a conscious effort to perform each character's forward and backward throws, X-Ray Attack, Fatality, Babality and a Stage Fatality (if you get to fight on a stage where you can perform one). You will earn six trophies if you undertake these actions, which are Fatality, Finish Him?, Complet-ality, Robots Rule, What Does This Button Do?? and Where’s The Arcade?.

Step 4: Arcade Champion
Repeat the same process as above choosing two characters at a time in tag ladders until you defeat the Arcade Ladder on beginner difficulty with all 32 characters. It’s easier to keep track of your progress if you work your way through the characters from top to bottom, one row at a time.

Upon defeating the ladder, you will unlock the endings for both characters, however the alternate costume will only unlock for whichever character was chosen first on the tag team.

While playing as Sonya, performing her X-Ray Attack will result in a 10-hit combo, therefore unlocking the Block This! trophy. As well as this, performing a tag combo with any team will earn you the Tag, You're It! trophy.

An important thing to note is when you are playing as Kratos or Cyber-Sub-Zero. You have to ensure that Kratos is chosen as the first character as you can unlock his alternate costume only by defeating the ladder. Cyber Sub-Zero does not have any alternate costume so it’s recommended that he is chosen as the second character.

If you followed the above, you will earn six trophies which are There Will Be Blood!, The Grappler, e-X-cellent, Finish What You Start, Ultimate Humiliation and finally Arcade Champion.

Step 5: Ladder Master
This one requires you to beat the Ladder on Expert difficulty. For this, I would recommend setting the options to two rounds to win with a 60 second time limit. This is because you can still obtain the trophy even if you lose a round but go on to win the match, therefore giving you more margin for error.

This may take you a few tries depending on your skill and requires some patience, but it's not that hard. Block as much as possible to avoid taking too much damage from combos. Once you defeat the ladder you will earn the Ladder Master trophy.

Step 6: Hidden Ladder Battles
There are four hidden battles that can be unlocked while fighting through the Arcade Ladder. Ensure that you set the options to two rounds to win with a 60 second time limit. The battles against Smoke, Reptile and Noob can only be unlocked when fighting on the Living Forest, Pit (Night) and Temple Arenas respectively. The hidden Jade battle is the hardest of all and will take quite a lot of tries to complete. Once you have unlocked all of the hidden battles, you will earn four trophies, these being Hide And Seek, Pit Master, Brotherhood Of Shadow and You Found Me.

Step 7: Challenge Tower
The Tower requires you to complete 300 missions which involve a variety of challenges of increasing difficulty. There are also various minigames along the way which involve breaking objects, a cups game, playing slot reels and testing striking power accuracy. Completing the Tower Challenges award Koins which can be used to unlock items in the Krypt as well as skip tough challenges. However, I’d recommend that you complete every challenge instead of skipping them.

In the process of completing the tower you can earn the Tower Apprentice, Luck Be A Lady, Dim Mak, These Aren't My Glasses and I 'Might' Be The Strongest trophies. After completing all of the Tower Challenges, you will earn Tower Master and unlock Mileena’s third alternate costume which would also unlock the Best…Alternate...Ever! trophy.

Step 8: Krypt
By now, you should have enough Koins to unlock everything that is available in the Krypt. In doing so, you will earn three trophies: Undertaker, You’ve Got Style! and The Krypt Keeper.

Step 9: Bonus Challenge Tower
This tower is exclusive to the Vita version of Mortal Kombat and consists of 150 missions which make use of the Vita’s touch and tilt controls. The minigames along the way include a test of balance skills using the tilt controls whilst having objects thrown at you and a fruit ninja type slicing game which uses the touch screen.

In the process of completing the Bonus Tower, you can earn the trophies The Fall Guy, Tower Recruit, Tower Champion and Balancing Act. After completing all challenges of the Bonus Tower, you will earn the Tower God trophy and unlock alternate costumes for Skarlet, Kenshi and Rain, which would also unlock the trophy Three's Company. Upon completion of the 10 slice minigame challenges in the tower, a further five are unlocked which are separate from the tower missions. Completing all 15 of these slice challenges will earn you the Slice Of Life trophy.

Step 10: Online Trophies
Finally it's time to unlock all of the online trophies. You will earn the Tough Guy trophy for winning any versus match (Ranked, Player or Private.) The trophies Humiliation, Cyber Challenger and Wavenet… can easily be boosted in Private versus matches while working towards the mastering trophies if you feel the need to do so.

Note: The remaining 3 online trophies namely Outstanding!, Don't Jump! and Throws Are For Champs which are earned only by playing RANKED matches cannot be earned anymore due to the GameSpy server shutdown.

Step 11: Mastering Characters
Lastly, the most dreaded and time consuming trophies in the game will be the My Kung Fu Is Strong for mastering one character and My Kung Fu Is Stronger for mastering all 32 characters. These would most definitely require a boosting partner to make things go quicker. Refer to the Trophy Boosting Thread for boosting partners.

Once you earn these time consuming trophies, the extremely difficult Platinum Trophy will be yours to keep. ( Note: Sadly this trophy is no longer possible due to the GameSpy shutdown )

Congratulations to you if you've earned the Platinum!

  • You've unlocked all Trophies!

No longer possible due to server closure.

This badass platinum will be yours to keep once you have finished the time consuming mastering trophies. You are a die hard Mortal Kombat fan if you have earned this. Hearty congratulations!

  • Complete Story Mode 50%

Story-Related and can't be missed. The trophy will unlock after the first fight of Chapter 9.

  • Complete Story Mode 100%

Story-Related and can't be missed. The trophy will unlock after completing Chapter 16 which is the last and final Chapter.

  • Complete Tutorial Mode

A very easy one. Select TRAINING -> TUTORIAL and complete the tutorial to learn the basics of Mortal Kombat and this trophy is yours.

  • Perform a Fatality!

    See "Finish What You Start!"

  • Perform a 10-hit combo with any fighter

Easy one that can be done in practice mode. Choose Sonya and enable Infinite Super Meter in the practice options. Just perform her X-Ray Attack (tap the X-Ray meter or press L + R together) and the trophy will unlock after the X-Ray move has finished.

  • Perform every fighter's forward and backwards throws

This is another one that will come naturally if you perform throws with every character whilst going for the "Arcade Champion" trophy. While playing through the ladder, perform both the forward throw (Forward + L Button) and backward throw (L Button) when next to the opponent. The trophy will unlock once you have performed both throws for all 32 characters.

  • Complete Arcade Ladder with Any Fighter

    See "Arcade Champion."

  • Complete Arcade Ladder with All Fighters

This is not that difficult but will take you some time. Just play on Beginner difficulty and set the options to one round and 60 seconds.  Playing Tag Ladders will speed things up, as you can unlock two endings in one run. Beat it 16 times to unlock the endings for all 32 characters. Once you've finished the ladder with the final pair, the trophy will unlock.

Note: When playing as Kratos, ensure that he is chosen first on the tag team in order to unlock his alternate costume as it cannot be unlocked through the Krypt.

  • Perform a Fatality with all playable fighters

This will come naturally if you perform a Fatality with every character whilst going for the Arcade Champion trophy. It's also possible to use the touchscreen to perform the Fatality to avoid making the mistake of jumping or hitting the defeated opponent instead. All characters have two Fatalities each, with the exception of Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Reptile, who have an extra third. Once you perform a Fatality with all 32 characters, the trophy will unlock. The moves are listed in the spoiler below and must be performed at the distance specified from the opponent for each one. If using the touch screen, just input the directions alone at the appropriate distance.

  • Perform 1 "-ality" using the PlayStation®Vita system touchscree

This is a really easy one. Just perform a finishing move using the touchscreen and it will unlock. This can be unlocked in the Fatality tutorial. The easiest one to execute is Scorpion's Split Decision Fatality (Forward, Down, Forward, ). Just stand next to the opponent and swipe the directions alone and the trophy will unlock.

  • Complete Arcade Ladder on max difficulty without using a continue

This is a tricky one and may take you a few tries. This must be done on EXPERT difficulty and I would suggest setting the options to two rounds with a 60 second time limit, as this allows you to win the match even if you lose a round. Just make sure that you don't lose the overall match at any cost.

Use Sheeva and Noob Saibot (select them in this order) and spam their teleport move ( ). Block as much as you can to avoid taking a lot of damage and you should be fine. Projectile moves such as Sheeva's Fireball and Noob's Energy Orb and Shadow Charge also help. Sheeva's X-Ray move also can come in really handy as its unblockable when the opponent is on the ground and the chances of you connecting are pretty high, so make the most of it whenever you can.

Once you beat Shao Kahn, the trophy will unlock.

  • Win A Ranked Online Match without jumping

No longer possible due to server closure.

This must be done in a RANKED MATCH and is a little tricky as it's hard not to jump whilst fighting. Hopefully if you get to fight somebody with a negative win/loss ratio, just stay back and use teleport attacks/special moves to win BOTH ROUNDS. Just don't press at all during the entire match and once you win and complete the match, the trophy will unlock.

  • Complete Arcade Ladder without blocking (allowed to continue)

This is not that hard and can be done on Beginner difficulty. Just ensure that you do not use the R button at all anytime during your ladder playthrough and the trophy should unlock once you defeat Shao Kahn.

  • Win a Versus Match

This will unlock when you win your very first online versus match and will come naturally when going for the "Outstanding!" trophy.

  • Win Arcade Tag Ladder with robot Sektor and Cyrax

This is an easy one. Just play the Tag Ladder on Beginner difficulty and  choose Cyrax and Sektor as a tag team and win all 10 matches of the Ladder. Use uppercuts on Shao Kahn and the trophy will  unlock once he is defeated.

  • Win 10 Ranked Online Matches in a row

No longer possible due to server closure.

This can only be done in RANKED MATCHES and is not that hard as there is a trick that you can use to avoid your win streak from being broken. If you are about to lose a Ranked match, before your opponent drains your life, quickly press the and swipe down the game to close it quickly. This will count as a disconnect and a loss towards your statistics but your win streak will remain intact.

However on the other hand, if you are winning and your opponent quits in this fashion, you will get a win against your stats but it will NOT COUNT towards the trophy. Only wins from completed matches will count, so this may take you a while. With a bit of luck and playing opponents who don't rage quit on you when they lose, this trophy will unlock after your 10th completed Ranked win.

  • Complete 100 Versus Matches

This requires you to complete 100 online matches and can either be Ranked, Player or Private. If you are trying to go for this the proper way, it may take you longer as lot of people will end up rage quitting which will NOT COUNT the match towards the trophy.

As a result, this can be BOOSTED easily in private versus matches with a friend. Complete 100 matches and the trophy will unlock. Refer to the Trophy Boosting Thread for boosting partners.

  • Win 100 total Versus Matches

Like "Cyber Challenger," this requires you to win 100 completed online matches which would take you longer than expected due to rage quitters which will spoil your wins towards the trophy.

As a result, its easier to BOOST these in private versus matches with a friend. Refer to the Trophy Boosting Thread for boosting partners.

  • Get a Flawless Victory in a Versus Match

This requires you to earn a flawless victory (win a round without taking any damage) in an online match. It can be done in Ranked, Player and Private matches.

If you happen to get an opponent with a low win/loss ratio, you can try to win a round without allowing him to get a hit on you but if you are finding it hard, this is BOOSTABLE in Private Versus matches. Just set up a private match and win a round with full health and the trophy will unlock. Refer to the Trophy Boosting Thread for boosting partners.

  • Complete 50 bonus tower missions

    See "Tower God."

  • Unlock 50% of the Krypt

    See "The Krypt Keeper."

  • Unlock 100% of the Krypt

Unlocking everything in the Krypt will require around 300,000 Koins. By  playing  through Story Mode, Arcade Ladder and the Challenge Tower, you  should  have enough to buy everything. There are 299 coffins in total which all need to be purchased for the trophy to unlock.

  • Spill 10000 pints of blood

This is an easy one. Just play Story Mode, Arcade Ladder or Versus matches and it will unlock naturally.

  • Complete Fatality Trainer

Also a very easy one. Select TRAINING -> FATALITY TUTORIAL to learn how to perform a Fatality (a finishing move to kill your opponent in a gruesome fashion.) Scorpion's Split Decision Fatality ( ) while standing next to the opponent is the easiest one to do.

  • Complete 100 bonus tower missions

    See "Tower God."

  • Perform 8 throws in an Online Ranked Match

No longer possible due to server closure.

This must be done in a RANKED MATCH and is easier if you pick a character who has a stun move where you can easily get a free hit on the opponent. Once you stun him, perform a throw instead of going for a combo.

The throws can be split across two rounds but as long as you execute a total of eight throws in the match, the trophy will unlock.

  • Complete all Test Your Balance mini-game challenges

This is a slightly tough one. This requires you to complete all Test Your Balance Challenges (Challenges #14, #28, #42, #56, #70, #85, #99,  #113, #127 and #141) of the Bonus Tower. The later challenges will have body parts thrown at you which makes it significantly harder. The last one is pretty hard, as you need to maintain balance in six zones whilst body parts are being thrown constantly.

Once you complete Challenge #141, the trophy will unlock.

  • Swipe your way through a set of all-new mini-game challenges

This is not that hard. This requires you to complete all 15 Test Your  Slice challenges. The Bonus Tower only has 10 challenges (Challenges #7,  #21, 35, #49, #63, #78, #92, #106, #120 and #134). The last few challenges are tricky as a lot of bombs will be thrown into the mix. Use the sound cues to watch out for them and deal with them first before slicing the other items.

Ensure that you swipe the Hell Fire (destroys all objects on screen), Green Clocks (+5 second time bonus) and Toasty (gives you a lot of objects to swipe at for a short time) bonuses when they appear on the screen to easily clear the challenges.

Once you complete Challenge #134, you will unlock five extra challenges  which can be accessed directly from the Test Your Slice menu. Complete  those as well and the trophy will unlock after the last one.

  • Get all MK Dragons in Test Your Luck

This one is purely luck based and can take a few tries. This requires you to play a Test Your Luck minigame whereby you must spin slot reels which can result in various gameplay modifiers for one or both opponents. For this trophy, you need to play a challenge that has at least four reels, as the first one chooses which opponent you will face. The earliest challenge this can be attempted on is #144 in the tower, as all three reels after the first one have a dragon symbol on them.

The method that worked for me was to press seven times as soon as the character reel stops, seven times after the second reel stops and seven times after the third reel stops.

  • Successfully land every playable fighter's X-Ray

This is another one that will come naturally if you perform the X-Ray move (tap the X-Ray meter or press L + R together) one you have a Level 3 Super Meter with every character during the quest for the "Arcade Champion" trophy.

It's recommended to set a 60 second time limit so you can build up your Super Meter to Level 3 by performing special moves, combos and taking damage from the opponent. Please note that Johnny Cage's X-Ray move is a little tricky to connect as it's a counter move and needs to be triggered when the opponent is trying to attack you at close range.

The trophy will unlock when you have performed the X-Ray move for all 32 characters.

  • Complete all 150 bonus tower missions

This is the first of the two gold trophies that you will earn in this game. This involves you completing all 150 Bonus Challenge tower missions. Like the earlier Challenge Tower, you can skip missions with Koins, however you will need to go back and complete thoese to earn the trophy.

The last challenge is quite hard and requires a lot of patience to defeat Shao Kahn. Once you have completed all of the earlier challenges and Challenge #150, you will earn this shiny gold trophy and also  unlock the alternate costumes for Skarlet, Kenshi and Rain, as well as the corresponding trophy for that too.

  • Unlock all Alternate Costumes

This  trophy will unlock when you have obtained the alternate costumes  for  the main 28 characters only (excluding Skarlet, Kenshi, Rain and  Freddy  Krueger.) The costumes can be unlocked by beating the Arcade Ladder or by unlocking the coffin in the Krypt that has it. You can then visit  the  Necropolis to unlock the character's relic. The costume for Kratos  can only be unlocked by defeating the Arcade Ladder and not through the  Krypt, so keep that in mind.

If you only need to unlock the costumes, the specific coffins are listed below.

    Deadlands
Reptile - Egg of the Last Saurian - DL-7 (1160 Koins)
    Johnny Cage - Cage's Sunglasses - DL-15 (1200 Koins)
    Sheeva - Sheeva's Shokan Talisman - DL-28 (1200 Koins)

  • Gain Mastery of 1 Fighter

See "My Kung Fu Is Stronger."

  • Gain Mastery of All Fighters

This is probably the most difficult, irritating and time consuming trophy on the Vita so far. This requires you to master five statistics for all 32 characters in the game. For one character, you have to achieve:

    • 100 Victories.
    • 100 Fatalities.
    • 150 X-Rays.
    • 10,000 Pints of blood spilled.
    • 24 hours of devotion time.

This means for the trophy, you need to achieve a grand total of:

    • 3200 Victories.
    • 3,200 Fatalities.
    • 48,00 X-Rays.
    • 320,000 Pints of blood spilled.
    • 768 hours of devotion time.

This is indeed daunting and will definitely be the last trophy you will earn. In order to achieve this as quick as possible, I would suggest the following steps:

Step 1: Boosting devotion time at night and during the day

Make the most of the time you are not going to use your Vita which is when you are asleep at night and away at work/school during the day. Make sure to use Tag Practice Mode as you can boost time here for two characters, therefore halving the total required devotion time to 384 hours for all characters.

In order to boost time, ensure that your Vita is plugged with the AC Adapter and have something to press against the left analog stick constantly so that the Vita doesn't go into standby mode. I would recommend pressing the analog stick down so your character stays crouched all of the time and doesn't move.

Important Note: Once you have boosted time, you can check your progress in the Necropolis, however the time boosted is NOT SAVED. So you have to remember to play one match of the Arcade Ladder in order to save your boosted time. You can then quit on the second match. This has to be done EVERYTIME YOU QUIT PRACTICE MODE, or else all of your hard work will be lost in a flash.

    Step 2: X-Rays

This involves successfully landing 150 X-Ray attacks with each and every character. This can be done by playing arcade ladders over and over with two or three round matches to get as many as possible. This will take a very long time, as you need to build up the super meter by executing combos, special moves or by taking damage. Also, the chances of the CPU blocking/you missing the X-Ray attack is high, so it's not really worth the time trying to do it alone.

I would suggest using a boosting partner as it can be done much faster than trying to build your super meter playing arcade ladders alone. Use the Trophy Boosting Thread for boosting partners.

Set up Private Versus Tag matches and start with the characters on the top row as its easier to keep track of the completed ones. Choose the Pit Arena every time and use the Versus Kombat Code 466-466 (Question Mark, Skull, Skull - Question Mark, Skull, Skull). Player 1 presses 4 times, 6 times and 6 times. Player 2 does the same. This will give you an Infinite Super Meter.

Just spam X-Rays and you will easily be able to get anywhere from 12 to 16 X-Rays per match depending on the character. You can also perform the Stage Fatality when you win to have those add up as well to the Fatality count. Change characters once you reach the milestone.

    Step 3: Victories/Fatalities

This can be done alone by playing one round Arcade Ladder matches, but the issue with that is you cannot choose the Arena you fight on and have to drain the opponent's health bar completely. You also need to resort to the character specific Fatalities which take a longer time for the whole animation to complete.

I would therefore suggest boosting these as well with a friend, as you can use one-hit wins to speed up matches very quickly. Use the Trophy Boosting Thread for boosting partners.

Set up Private Versus 1 v 1 matches and work on one character at a time. Choose the Pit Arena and use the Versus Kombat Code 044-440 (MK Dragon, Question Mark, Question Mark - Question Mark, Question Mark, MK Dragon). Player 1 presses 4 times and 4 times. Player 2 presses 4 times and 4 times. This will put both health bars at danger which enables one-hit wins. Perform the Stage Fatality as it's quicker than the character specific ones.

Change characters once you reach 100 Fatalities, as Victories will naturally add up as well.

    Step 4: Blood Spilled

This should be the last thing you work on. Just set three round matches in Arcade and try to use combos that spill lot of blood. You should not have much left to do after completing the 150 X-Rays and 100 Fatalities.

Once you have completed this, wrap up anything that is left using the above methods and you should finally earn this time consuming and irritating trophy.

  • Complete all Test Your Might mini-game challenges

This requires you to complete all of the Test Your Might challenges in the Challenge Tower (Challenges #6, #36, #66, #96, #126, #156, #186, #198, #216, #228, #240, #252, #264, #276, #288 and #294.) This is a minigame where you have to keep pressing the , , and buttons to increase the strength bar above the specified mark and press L or R break objects of increasing strength.

It's easier to place the Vita on a flat surface and press the above buttons with four fingers to get the meter rising faster. The last few ones are pretty hard and will take a few tries, so bear this in mind.

Once you complete Challenge #294, the trophy will unlock.

  • Complete all Test Your Strike mini-game challenges

This requires you to complete all of the Test Your Strike challenges in the Challenge Tower (Challenges #18, #48, #78, #108, #138 and #168.) This is a minigame where you have to keep pressing the , , and buttons to increase the strength bar and sustain it in between two markers. The power meter will turn green and you'll then need to press L or R to be able to strike the object and complete the challenge.

It's easier to place the Vita on a flat surface and press the above buttons with four fingers to get the meter rising faster. The last few ones will take a few tries, so bear this in mind.

Once you complete Challenge #168, the trophy will unlock.

  • Complete all Test Your Sight mini-game challenges

This requires you to complete all of the Test Your Sight challenges in the Challenge Tower (Challenges #12, #42, #72, #102, #132, #162, #192, #222, #246 and #270.) This is a minigame where you have to identify which cup has the coin underneath it after they are shuffled. Just focus on the item that covers the coin and you should be able to clear these easily. The latter ones will have the objects moving at a pretty fast rate, so keep a sharp eye.

  • Complete 25 Tower missions

    See "Tower Master."

  • Complete all Tower missions

This will take you a while, as you need to complete all 300 missions of  the Challenge tower. You can skip difficult missions by using Koins, but you will need to go back and complete these to earn this trophy. The last  mission  is very difficult, however it becomes easier if you fail 10 times or more.

Once you complete all previous challenges and beat challenge #300, you  will  unlock this silver trophy and also obtain Mileena's third alternate  costume, resulting in the acquisition of that trophy as well.

  • Perform and land a Tag Combo

Easy one that can be done in Tag Practice Mode. Choose any two characters and just perform a Tag Combo (refer to in-game move list) and the trophy will unlock.

Secret trophies

  • Unlock Kenshi, Skarlet, and Rain Alternate Costumes

    See "Tower God."

  • Unlock Mileena's 3rd Alternate Costume

  • Perform 1 of each type of "-ality"

This is an easy one. Just perform a Fatality (finishing move to kill your opponent in a gruesome fashion), Babality (turn your opponent into a diaper-clad baby) and Stage Fatality (use the surrounding environment to kill your opponent) for a character and this trophy will unlock.

The Stage Fatalities can only be executed on the following Arenas:

    • Subway
    • Street
    • The Living Forest
    • Hell
    • The Dead Pool
    • Pit (Day)
    • Pit (Night)

The Stage Fatality moves are listed below. These must be executed close to your opponent. For the Babality moves, see "Ultimate Humiliation."

This is another one that will come naturally if you perform a Babality (turning your opponent into a diaper-clad baby) with every character whilst going for the "Arcade Champion" trophy. To perform a Babality, you must not use block (R button) in the winning round and input the move while standing at jumping distance. Once you perform a Babality with all 32 characters, the trophy will unlock. The moves are listed in the spoiler below. If using the touch screen, just input the directions alone.

  • Discover all the deathtraps in Test Your Balance

This is an easy one. You can do this on the very first Test Your Balance Challenge (Challenge #14) of the bonus tower. Just tilt the Vita in the same direction as the pointer and you will fall to your death. You have to die in 5 different ways, which are:

    • Fall through three rotating blades.
    • Fall straight onto the floor.
    • Fall through two sets of flames.
    • Fall through a giant saw blade which cuts you in half.
    • Fall into a pool where piranhas will attack and devour you.

Just keep failing until you die in the five ways above. Once you die by all of the above deathtraps, the trophy will unlock.

  • Discover and fight Hidden Kombatant 1 in Arcade Ladder

This is a very hard one and will take you a lot of tries to unlock, even on Beginner difficulty. Set the options to two rounds with a 60 second time limit and start a solo ladder. Scorpion is a very good choice, but choose whoever you feel most comfortable with. To unlock the hidden battle against Jade, you must:

    • Win every match before Shang Tsung (seven matches in total) without losing a single round.
    • Defeat Shang Tsung with a Double Flawless Victory (winning both rounds without taking damage) and not lose any round against him.
    • Perform a fatality on Shang Tsung.

Shang Tsung is pretty unpredictable and there are lot of strategies that I have seen used against him. Jump punch and uppercuts work well at times, however this is risky, as he may end up blocking and retaliating with a Fireball, Sweep Attack or his Soul Steal move. He tends to use the Soul Steal move a lot if he is within range of you, so bear this in mind. Try to keep as much distance on him as you can, as the Soul Steal move drains your life and heals Tsung, which can ruin your attempts at getting this trophy.

The technique that worked best for me with Scorpion was to spear him when possible and execute the Doom Blade combo (Forward + , , ) which pushes Tsung away from you and prevents him from using Soul Steal. Throw another spear just as he is getting up to prevent him from doing a wake up attack, and repeat. With some luck and practice of getting the timing right, you should be able to get a Double Flawless Victory against him.

If done correctly, you will be taken to Goro's Lair to fight Jade. The trophy will unlock as soon as the battle against Jade begins.

Tip: If Shang Tsung does hit you, don't fret. Just make sure that you defeat him without losing a round and when you have to execute a fatality on him, hit Start and choose "Player Select." This way, you can keep fighting against Shang Tsung again and again until you get a Double Flawless Victory.

  • Discover and fight Hidden Kombatant 2 in Arcade Ladder

This is an easy one to unlock. Set the options to two rounds with 60 second time limit and start a Solo Ladder on Beginner difficulty. To unlock the hidden battle against Smoke, you must:

    • Be fighting on the "Living Forest" Arena.
    • Watch for a grey ninja pop from behind the trees in the background (see yellow circle in image below)

If you see him appear, immediately hold and press . If done correctly, Smoke will appear and fight you. The trophy will unlock as soon as the battle against Smoke begins.

Tip: If you do not see him appear behind the trees, hit Start and choose "Player Select" to restart the match on the forest stage. Keep doing this till you get the ninja to appear.

  • Discover and fight Hidden Kombatant 3 in Arcade Ladder

This is not that difficult. Set the options to two rounds with a 60 second time limit and start a Solo Ladder on Beginner difficulty. To unlock the hidden battle against Reptile, you must:

    • Be fighting on the "Pit (Night)" Arena.
    • See shadows flying across the moon (either Santa Claus with a sleigh or a witch on a broom. See black circle in image below)
    • Defeat the opponent with a Double Flawless Victory without blocking and not losing a round.
    • Perform a stage fatality (fatality using the environment to kill your opponent.)

If done correctly, you will be taken to the Pit Bottom to fight Reptile. The trophy will unlock as soon as the battle against Reptile begins.

Tip: If the first ladder battle is not on the "Pit (Night)" stage, quit the ladder and start again until you get this stage. The very first opponent on Beginner is not particularly intelligent and will almost never attack you which makes it easier. If you get the "Pit (Night)" stage and don't see shadows flying across the moon, use the "Player Select" trick until you see the shadows fly across the moon.

  • Discover and fight Hidden Kombatant 4 in Arcade Ladder

This is an easy one to unlock. Set the options to two rounds with a 60 second time limit and start a Solo Ladder on Beginner difficulty. To unlock the hidden battle against Noob Saibot, you must:

    • Be fighting on the "Temple" Arena.
    • See Noob Saibot standing in the background to the right of the altar (see yellow circle in image below).
    • Win both rounds without blocking (don't use the R button.)

If done correctly, Noob Saibot will appear after you defeat your opponent and fight you. The trophy will unlock as soon as the battle against Noob Saibot begins.

Tip: If Noob does not appear in the background, use the "Player Select" trick until you see him standing there.
